Hi All,

I am trying to place a grid on a simple xy chart that stays the same no matter what the scale does because the labels are not visible, just need a visual reference.

After trying various things I decided to make secondary axes for displaying the grid.

I used CustomStep mode and set the range to view the grid as needed to place them like I wanted.

Where I am currently running into an issue is if I make the minor grid visible, the lines show up at the same location as the major grid lines.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Lou

Hi Lou,

The categorical scale does not regard minor ticks/grid properties as by design it is used to display only discrete (categorical) data. If you post a screenshot of the chart you want to accomplish perhaps we can recommend something else instead - there are lots of options - like using a hierarchical scale to show the grid and then a custom wall decorator to display grid lines etc. , however some visual reference will be helpful to comment on the best approach...

Best Regards,

Thanks for the reply.

I did come to the conclusion that the grid must be tied to data.  The idea of adding "grid" axes is working well for me except I still seem to have an issue of when I make the minor grid visible it shows up in the the same location as my major grid.  Not sure why.

For now I have turned the minor grid off but will be revisiting this in the future.

Thanks again,

Lou
