Hi Bob,
Unfortunately, the Chart Twinning feature is only available for 2D charts. In general, this is because with 3D charts correct alignment is not possible due to the different projections and other settings in 3D.

Best Regards,

I've tried to apply the settings from my example into my "live" chart but it's having problems. I've attached all the components.

In the attached GIF file note the following things:

Despite trying to Twin the charts, they do not align (these are combo charts, not flat bar charts).

The Secondary X Axis labels on Chart 0 are truncated and I am unable to locate them appropriately next to the axis.

The Secondary X Axis labels on Chart 1 are out of place when resized.

The XLSX file attached can be imported into a list called "Financial_Data" on the current web if you would like to set up the NCSP file.

Been messing with this for 2 days and having trouble!

Hi Bob,

"Any chance that the software could be changed to recognize if the category data is the same and then automatically apply the above changes when twinning is selected?"

This is not currently in the development plans as this feature in general is rarely used (plus it's easy to spot that you have identical grouping, when you design the chart). However it cannot be fully replicated when hiding the second chart axis as in this case it will be difficult to align the charts properly when you have labels that change is size.

Ok that did the trick!

Any chance that the software could be changed to recognize if the category data is the same and then automatically apply the above changes when twinning is selected? It seems as though this effect could be achieved without the use of twinning (though not identically) by simply using the same categories in both chart areas, inverting one chart area's axis and then hiding the labels for that axis.

Thanks for the help!

Hello Bob,
You have missed few configurations in your chart. Attached is the modified template file.

For Chart Area 0 >> Axes >> Primary X >> Scale, you need to hide the labels and check Inverted.

For Chart Area 1 >> Axes >> Primary X >> Advanced, you need to set Label Alignment to Middle Center.

Hopefully this helps.

I am trying to create a simple twin chart using sample data from a Nevron example. I cannot get the X axis to align and the chart never seems to merge on the X axis.

Here is an image of what I have:

Twinning Attempt

I don't know if that will load correctly so I will also add it as an attachment.

I have looked at the following documentation piece: http://helpssrsvision.nevron.com/Chart_Twinning.html but the instructions provided are not sufficient to make my twin chart function.

Attached are the image of my chart, the sample data and the NCSP file. All file extensions have been changed to .gif so that the forum will accept them as attachments. Create a list called "Sales_Data" on the current web and then load the NCSP file and the chart will work.
