Hi,

Hopefully a quick question. One of my divisions has come back and "demanded" that I correct their graph as it is showing a negative value on the Y Axis and the Divisional Revenue can never be negative!!

I know why it has happened (and the attached screen clipping shows it). There is a week over the CHristmas closure where we had two "part weeks" either side of the company closure, and as the graph is a smooth line chart the smoothing has taken the "curve" below £0 and the axis has auto-adjusted to show this, but it has auto-adjusted to a minimum value of -£20,000 and the division manager is not happy :-)

How can I pin the Y-Axis to a minimum value of £0 and have the dip under this caused by the smoothing just be cropped ?

I am guessing this will be some kind of customisation setting on the Y-Axis configurator ...

Hi Steve,

You need to set a y axis view that limits the bottom range and enables clipping - try the following:
chart.Axis(StandardAxis.PrimaryY).View = new NRangeAxisView(new NRange1DD(0, 0), true, false);

I have tried this and it does what I wanted (fixing Y-Axis base at £0 and clipping the curve, but it also alters the general display of the lines as shown below which generates an inconsistency with the other line charts. I have applied the same code to all, but when the "clipping" is not needed the display is not affected in this way:

Is there something else I need to do to make it leave the line and point formatting alone ?

Is there anything I can do to address this unwanted effect on the formatting (dropping the markers etc)?
 
The reason I am asking is that the division manager is chasing me kn a fix for this, but I cannot release the suggested fix as it makes unwanted changes to the graph and makes it differ from the others, and I just know that the moans will be even louder for that.

Is there any solution to this issue?? I still have management on my back over this issue (as I reverted back to the original solution as they "hated" the altered display. I seem to have nowhere to go with this - they do not like the Y-Axis going negative, and they do not like the altered display when I implement your solution.

Hi Steve,

We're not sure whether we understand the problem correctly - the markers disappear or you don't want the line to get clipped when it goes below zero. If the first (markers disappear) we just tested with the latest SP from our website and there was no such problem. If the latter you can also force the y axis not to clip the content when it goes below zero:

chart.Axis(StandardAxis.PrimaryY).ClipMode = AxisClipMode.Never;
