NOV Command Bars for WPF is a flexible control for implementation of toolbars and button strips in your WPF applications. The Command Bars consist of a gripper, pendant and an items collection. You can place any UI widget in the items collection of a command bar.
Add/Remove Items
NOV Command Bars for WPF supports toolbar personalization via the "Add or Remove Items" dropdown, just like in Microsoft Office.
Text and Image Support
The buttons on the NOV WPF Command Bar can be customized independently to either display text, image or both.
Command Bars Support for Widgets
The items of the WPF Command Bar can be any NOV widgets.
Docking and Floating Command Bars
Different instances of NOV WPF Command Bars can be moved, docked, and rearranged by the end user at run-time, just like in Microsoft Office. Floating toolbars are also supported. Command bars that reside inside a command bar manager can be floated, docked and redocked to different command bar docks.
Horizontal or Vertical Orientation
With NOV WPF Command Bars you can easily have both horizontal and vertical tollbars. The orientation is automatically updated by Nevron, when the command bar is added to dock lanes.
Built-in Themes
NOV Command Bars are styled with CSS. NOV initially comes with the following themes: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP Blue, Windows Classic (with all color scheme variations) and Mac Lion.

I really like the fact that standard windows icons are provided with the NOV Ribbon example, avoiding the need to recreate the wheel and giving a more professional appearance. Using the provided Visual Studio NOV solution, it is fairly straightforward to add custom icons with a few extra simple steps. The gallery of C# examples for all controls makes it easy to create custom layouts. For the handful of customizations I could not find in the examples or user forums, the tech support responses got me going within a day.
