Hello Chris,
We are glad that we were able to contact you directly and we will do our best to assist you.
Last 2 days we've tested several case scenarios with clean installs:
1. Windows Server 2003/IIS6/SQL Server 2005/Team Foundation Server 2008/SharePoint Services
2. Windows Server 2003/IIS6/SQL Server 2008/Team Foundation Server 2008 - SP1/SharePoint Services
3. Windows Server 2008/IIS7/SQL Server 2008/Team Foundation Server 2008 - SP1/SharePoint Services
We have tested our web part in sites created by Team Foundation Server automatically and also in sites created by SharePoint Services Web Administration. We were not able to reproduce the problem.
We recommend you to try to unregister and register again our web part with Nevron SharePoint Registrator which you can find in our installation folder in program files or in Start -> Programs -> Nevron SharePoint Vision 2009.2.
You can also try to enable SharePoint Trace for debugging. For the purpose go to installation folder of the SharePoint site usually at c:\inetpub\wwwroot\virtualdirectories\sitefolder, open web config and set CallStact to true - <SafeMode MaxControls="50" CallStack="true"/> also set customErrors mode to remote only - <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" />
Another idea is to try to remove the call to our dll in NChartDesignerPage.aspx (<%@ Register Assembly="Nevron.Chart.SharePoint.Design....) just for testing purpose if the security problem is with our dll in gac. You can find NChartDesignerPage.aspx in: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\Nevron\Chart.
Your feedback will be greatly appreciated. We will do our best to provide you with extended tech support and a great charting solution for the SharePoint environment.
We are now finalizing the next major release of the SharePoint Vision suite, which will include Gauge support and other new features (like code embedding).
Kind regards,
Nevron Support Team
