When trying to copy selected nodes to clipboard, it looks like the whole document is copy to the clipboard instead. Is there a way to copy only the selected nodes the clipboard similarly to visio?

Hi Volvick,

how do you copy the selected notes? Post your code and we will tell you what's wrong with it.

see the attached picture for more information. I use the import image dialog, where I select the nodes. So first I select the node then choose import image, then copy to clipboard.

Hi Volvick,

You mean the "Export Image Dialog", do you?

To export only the selected nodes to an image, first select them in the drawing view, then click File -> Image Export and select the "Selected Nodes" option from the "Load Known Bounds" combo box. In this way you can export only the selected nodes or copy the resulting image to the clipboard.

I understand that. This is basically what I did; but maybe I should asked the question differently.

What I want, is there a way the bound can be calculate automatically. Right now if I want to copy the selection to the clipboard, I have to specify the values, if not, it will copy the selected nodes with the whole page.

I want to know, if there a way those values can be calculated automatically. For instance, if I want to export some images, in order to copy the exactly the selected nodes without any unwanted white area, I have to supply those values x, width, y, height

I wonder is those values can be calculated automatically, so when I click on export image, then I don't have to enter those values manually.

Hi,

When you select the "Selected Nodes" option from the "Load Known Bounds" combo box, this area is automatically calculated based on the nodes you have selected and the values for X, Y, Width and Height are filled in for you.

When I selected the shapes, "Selected Nodes" appeared in the combobox. Since "Selected Nodes" was already in the combobox, I did not bother to select it again. That was the problem. That is also I minor bug that's needed to be fixed. If the nodes are selected already, which is indicated by the combobox, the value for x, y, height, and the width should be appeared in the value boxes.

Thanks
