I know there has been a change in the data labelling behaviour, but I don't expect the line joining the label to the data point to draw through it! - see the top right label (and many of the others, though it's not as obvious)

Hi Kevin,
Yes that is correct - we changed the labeling a bit for performance reasons - the previous model had to pass through the whole data just to generate the stems of the data points labels which was computationally expensive and does not result in much improved image quality to justify the performance hit.

Hi guys
Happy New Year!
I'm all for performance improvements, but the label line drawing completely through the top right point just doesn't look good. Surely this is a bug?
Thanks
Kevin

Can I get a response please? Are you saying it is now intended behaviour that the label line draws in front of the datapoint; i.e on top of it?

Hi Kevin,
The behavior is like that because the label location is inverted - when inverting the data point label the labeling algorithm does not invert the data label origin (which in this case is on top of the labels).

We will try to provide a solution with the next release of the Chart control.
